Moultrie First Presbyterian Church

Youth

Over the next two years our youth group will experience a growth by 15 youth. That gives us a potential of 42 active youth in 2013 and as we have already discussed-that will be here before we know it. Over the course of the year you will see youth at work at the Food Bank, The Toy Shop (we adopted the doll room) and a variety of other community organizations. Here at church you will see youth helping with the Advent Festival, the Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Church on Sunday mornings, and just about any other time they are asked to lend a helping hand. On a Presbytery level, we have four that serve on the Youth Council and three who have served as Junior Counselors at Kamp Kolomoki. Last year we had 14 youth age campers and this year we have 5 attending Montreat Youth Week and 16 participating in the Flint River Presbytery Mission Trip to Kentucky/Tennessee to do home repair.

The youth group meets on Sunday nights at 5:30 PM in the Youth Room in the Stegall Building for a meal, recreation, and discussion groups.  The youth plan and lead one worship service during the year and participate in local missions through service projects.  A member of the church staff is their advisor with adult volunteers serving as age level leaders.
