CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

“To provide a sense of faith and community through prayer, fellowship, service, and learning, so that our young people are able to form relationships with Christ and one another.”

First Presbyterian Children’s Ministry gathers twice a week, on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Through fostering a sense of faith and community, our programs alternate between devotionals, service, and fellowship. Additionally, we offer monthly fellowship outings.

Nursery

Children in the nursery are received into a loving and caring atmosphere.  For many children, this is their first experience away from their parents.  Teachers provide a calming presence while teaching children to play together and develop independence.

PreK-Kindergarten

Ages 3-4 enjoy hands-on activities and the creative teaching of Bible stories especially suited for their age, in addition to a monthly lesson taught on our mobile computer lab. They meet on the first floor of the Stegall Building.

1st - 3rd Grade

1st-3rd  Graders use a Bible-based curriculum that teaches children about the love of Jesus and to recognize God at work in their own lives. They also have the opportunity to learn through our mobile computer lab once a month. They meet on the first floor of the Stegall Building.

4th - 5th Grade

4th-5th Graders dig deeper into the lessons of the Bible and are encouraged to bring their own so that they can actively participate in looking up and learning scripture. They also enjoy a monthly lesson on our mobile computer lab. They meet on the second floor of the Stegall Building.
