Other Opportunities COMPUTER LAB Computer classes for adults have been offered in Basic Computer Skills, Internet, and Genealogy. The Computer Lab has programs for adults that include Bibles with Bible concordances, Bible interpretation and inspiration, Bible atlas, and tours through Jerusalem. Children use the Computer Lab the most. The Sunday School Classes rotate through the lab which contains a wide variety of programs. These include interactive Bible stories, Bible games, and writing programs. The computer lab is also used in our Wednesday afternoon tutoring program in partnership with Communities in Schools. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2011 Schedule Vacation Bible School is scheduled for the first week of June. It is a family Vacation Bible School that begins at 5:45 PM with supper. There are classes planned for nursery through adults. CHURCH LIBRARY The Church Library is located in the Vereen Building. It has a wide selection of books. You can find Bibles and study resources including up-to-date commentaries, Bible dictionaries, and atlases. There are books on church government and church history. You will find copies of the 1992 Centennial History of the church written by members Bert Harsh and Melody Jenkins. In the family section there are books on prayer, worship, applied Christianity, and inspirational fiction, and family living. CDs and DVD are also available. Library hours are whenever the church is open. This is a self-service library; feel free to browse and check out a book. Just sign the card and put it in the box by the door. Books can be checked out for a month at a time. The library guild will be happy to help you in any way. SECRET PALS Secret Pals is a great way to get to know each other better. Those desiring to participate in Secret Pals are assigned a pal each February. Participants surprise their pals with small monthly gifts to coincide with a holiday for that month (i.e. a Mother’s Day gift in May, Christmas gift in December, etc.) They are also encouraged to remember birthdays and anniversaries. Secret Pals are revealed at an annual tea in January. Scrapbooking A group of dedicated scrapbookers meets monthly – usually the last weekend of the month -- for scraping and fellowship. The group meets at 6:00 on Friday evening, enjoys a meal together, and scraps until midnight. They gather again at 9:00 on Saturday morning and scrap until everyone is ready to go, usually mid-afternoon. A great time to work on the cherished albums and develop relationships. While most scrappers are FPC members, scrappers from the community are welcome.
